Orthodox Jew Prepares for Sukkot

Sukkot or the
Feast of Tabernacles is a week-long fall festival commemorating the 40-year journey of the Israelites in the wilderness. This year it begins on October 13 at sundown. Sukkot is one of the three great pilgrimage feasts recorded in the Bible when all Jewish males were expected to appear before the Lord at the Temple in Jerusalem. It's main characteristic is the requirement to dwell in temporary shelters or "booths" in remembrance of God's protection, provision, and care during their years of wandering in the desert. In contrast to the solemnity of
Yom Kippur, this holiday is a very joyous time of giving thanks to the Lord for his bountiful harvest and a reminder of his protection and faithfulness.

Guest reviewer, K. M. Paris, reveals just enough to pique your curiosity about this new cozy mystery novel. She says, "
The Case of the Bouncing Grandma is a poignant story of a widow (Glory Harper) learning to allow her heart to flower again while in the midst of solving a mystery. The relationships between Glory, her daughter Andi, her grandson Seth, and her sister Jane are handled successfully, drawing the reader deeper into the story with each turn of the page. The author, A. K. Arenz, has mastered an easy-to-read, flowing style of writing. Now, if you're wondering how Glory Harper came to be called the 'Bouncing Grandma'—you'll have to read
The Case of the Bouncing Grandma for yourself to find out. I can’t wait for book two to come out."

Ben started drinking and doing drugs in his early teens. By 16 he had run away from home. One Christmas Day, God intervened in his life by showing him people who cared about him and could help. Ben turned to Christ that day. This intervention took place seven years ago, and since then Ben has never been the same.
Ben's true story is one of our many featured testimonies from you, the members and visitors of this site. Each story reveals a life transformed by Christian faith. If your relationship with God has made a significant difference in your life, we would like to hear about it.
