Newsweek Magazines features a fascinating study of "Spirituality in America," claiming that in growing numbers "Americans are looking for personal, ecstatic experiences of God." According to the Newsweek/Beliefnet poll, "America is still one nation under God." So, just how important is religion today? The poll showed that "spirituality" or having a personal experience of knowing God was more important, especially to younger Americans, than being religious.
