This week's post is a member-submitted Christian poem called
I Give Up. It is a prayer of surrender to the Lord.
I Give Up
Here I am, standing on the edge.
I can't make it alone anymore.
I fall to my knees,
Lord, I give up. Forgive me.
I've come to the place,
Where you are is what I need.
I have no one to blame.

More Christian Prayers:
This is one of the oldest Christian prayers but I used it in an original way. I was doing my senior thesis and was very overwhelmed because I was also working full time and dealing with a very disruptive co-worker. To steady my mind, I started repeating this:
O Lord, make haste to help me
O God, make speed to save me.
It did the trick. Every time my co-worker did something bizarre, I would start reciting it as I did my work. It seemed to take me outside the upset, outside the striving, outside the anxiety. I seemed to be handing my situation over to something bigger and wiser than I am.
