Is God Sending You a Wake-up Call?

Tuesday June 17, 2008
Bad things happen to good people. When it happens to you, is your initial thought, "Why is God punishing me?" Perhaps there is another possibility we would do better to consider first. Maybe God is sending a wake-up call.

The Sunday School Times published this anecdote: "Sometimes we are helped by being hurt. A skilled physician about to perform a delicate operation upon the ear said reassuringly, 'I may hurt you, but I will not injure you.' How often the great Physician speaks to us the same message if we would only listen! Richer life, more abundant health for every child of His, is His only purpose. Why defeat that purpose?"

If you suspect God is sending you a wake up call, try not to defeat his purpose. Jack Zavada of Inspiration-for-Singles.com will explain how to get from "blurry-eyed, surprised questioning" to "wide-awake, clear understanding."
