Sarah Palin Brings Hope to Evangelical Voters
- “Sen. McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is an outstanding choice that should be extremely reassuring to the conservative base of his party. She is a strong executive who hates corruption and puts principle above politics. After floating the names of Tom Ridge and Sen. Joe Lieberman in recent weeks – selections that would have created consternation among pro-family Republicans – Sen. McCain has chosen a solid conservative who has a reputation for espousing common sense.
“Gov. Palin’s commitment to the sanctity of life is not just a political position. She was advised to abort her fifth and youngest child when it was learned he had Down syndrome. She refused. That’s bravery and integrity in action.
... This selection by Sen. McCain is a very encouraging sign for his campaign.”

“America First” or “Family First” Which will it be?
Sarah may be able to take her baby to work with her and nurse during a meeting as Governor of Alaska - a state with a population of 626,000 people. It is a different story being the VP of the United States. No CEO in any corporation would do such a thing. I think a woman with children is certainly capable of being the VP or president of the US, but I do question the judgment and “family first” priority of a new mother with a newborn having special needs.
When it comes down to it, where will her allegiance be? With the MILLIONS of people relying upon her to lead the country, or with her children, whether they be pregnant, sick or whatever the issue? Will she be in the Middle East brokering a peace deal and suddenly have to fly home to attend to the health care needs of her infant son? She would be a cruel, heartless mother if she did no less, but she will be an ineffective, laughable joke of a world leader if she places her family priorities ahead of her country.
I cannot not comment on Sarah Palin’s skills as a mother. I commend her for her prolife stance with her child, however she clearly does not have the same respect for all of God’s creatures. I have never seen a clause in the commandment “Thou shall not kill” stating humans only. Sarah is an avid hunter and apparently gunning down other living beings is done in fun, and the bigger the better. In an age, where concern for climate change includes loss of habitat for ice dependant creatures like the polar bear, Her answer seems to be shoot them from aircraft before they drown attempting to swim to fast disappearing ice.
While I won’t complain about creatures eating other creatures to sustain life. Killing for sport seems to me to go against God’s commandment. Such blatant disregard for life does not sit well with me when I consider leadership values. The environment and its creatures are interdependent. In signing their death warrants we sign our own. Sarah Palin is all for exploiting Alaska natural preserves. Do we really want to elect leaders whose personal agendas hasten the jeopardy of our planet eco system , and thus not only its creatures, but indeed it’s human population.
Getting the VP nomination is obviously a great accomplishment for Mrs. Palin. However, I do not understand how Dr. Dobson can endorse her at a time when her focus should clearly be on her family in need instead of on her own political aspirations.
I think that the sexist cheapshot by magikjack is just the sort of crap that will get her elected keep it up ; she has a husband and extended family. I have to state to the guy who thinks its a sin to hunt are you kidding ? I sugest you dust off your Bible or ask someone who has one to explain it to you; we are given dominion over the earth.I don,t have time to get into it but find some other reason to rant you sound pathetic.Leon for christians there is only one ticket prolife!
How can anyone make this is a one-issue election? Pro-life? Great! But what about: the economy; global warming (which she believes isn’t impacted by what humans do or don’t do); health care not just the unemployed, disabled, and seniors but also for our brothers and sisters who either work for an employer who doesn’t provide it or can’t afford their share of the cost; the war(s); teen pregnancy; diplomacy; the federal deficit.
What kind of world will she leave her unborn grandchild and the millions of babies born to unwed teenage mothers every year? What programs besides abstinence will she financially support to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and sexually-transmitted diseases?
What is she going to do to make this country and the world a better place for having served as VP? Will she be a voice for each of us or only those who share her viewpoints? Will she listen and be receptive to others with different opinions and ideas, at home and abroad? Is she a skilled negotiator who will elevate this country’s standing around the world? Can you see her taking on terrorists around the world?
Please, vote for a candidate because they’re well-rounded and reflect your views on a number of issues, not just one, and vote for a candidate who can bridge gaps, not just reinforce the divides that already exist.
Joe, I do find it quite pathetic that we are nearing a time when animals will exist only in zooz because of man’ careless dominion. Dominion to me means responsibiity as a caretaker and not an exploiter of earth’s resources. Sarah Palin lives on earth’s final frontier which it appears she is ready to recklessly exploit.
“Drill Now” puts off the inevitable while squandering precious resources which will not even be realized by the consumer for another two decades, rather than focusing on renewable energy sources as a means of keeping in check the precarious balance of a planet in peril. It prospers big business and corporate America leaving average citizens in the lurch facing unemployment, foreclosures, rising living cost, unaffordable health care, and increasing fuel prices.
McCain?Palin 2008!!!
