As I continue to add new Christmas devotionals to the site this season, you'll see that this particular reading, "God With Us," was inspired by my time as a missionary in a foreign country. The devotional includes a Christmas quotation, a Bible verse and a thought for reflection. Each reading is designed to encourage the Christmas spirit and a deeper daily walk with the Lord throughout the holidays.

The books you have suggested other than a few are just speculation. Some have no biblical backing. Since you are on this Journey read, Heaven is So Real…and another The priestly Bride and The Heavens Opened by Anna Roundtree. That will blow your mind.

Hi there Mary,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary, English Language is not my mother tongue so please bear with me as I try to express my love for our GOD.

I just came across your site this morning and started reading your article on “God With Us” and I was truly blessed by it.

Yes, without GOD we really can not survive in this world. I don’t know where I’d be right now, hadn’t GOD being with me.

You see, I am a police officer in my country Papua New Guinea. PNG is a very difficult place to work in, particulary if you are a GOD fearing, GOD loving police officer.

The country is young and developing very fast and in the mix of it all, the devil also want things done his way.

I find great comfort in the Words of our Lord when He said, we will be persecuted, ridiculed, spatted on, beaten and jailed all because of Him, but we must stand stedfast, because we will one day reap our rewards if we faint not.

My comfort always in “GOD is with me” regardless of what I am going through.

You know when you said:

“If you’ve ever gone to live in a foreign country, you’ve known the temporary loneliness

and frustration of living among people who can’t fully understand you. In spite of the

hardship, most likely you endured because you knew that one day you would eventually

be fully understood. . .”

How true that is. It is indeed “lonely and frustrating” being a police officer for GOD, particularly in a police force and in a country where the devil is having a “field day”. But GOD is always with us.

Mary, when I first met the Lord eight (8) years ago, I went through an experience where I felt like I had suddenly become “ONE WITH THE WHOLE UNIVERSE” and the billions and billions of the different galaxies in the whole universe, were all within me.

And somewhere from that DEEP within me, a CRY started as soon as I said “YES” to the Lord. I dont know whether it was me, or my soul or my spirit or even the Holy Spirit crying for me or on my behalf, but that cry kept coming until it reached my tear ducts.

Oh what an awesome experience that was. When the tears started it just kept coming out of my eyes in “bucket loads”, streaming down my face, and onto the floor. Mary, everytime I talk or think about this, I just go into another realm altogether. What a Wonderful GOD we serve. Truly GOD is with us.

Immediately after this experience and the ensuing hours that followed. My vision and my perception of life and everything around me became very very VIVID. The colours of the clothing people wore in the church that morning, the way people worshiped. The way different instruments made their respective music. The lead and the strum guitars, the bass, the drums and the keyboards, which instrument was late in chord change, how peoples voices sounded and the melodies they made when singing in accompaniment with the musical instruments.

And when I looked out of the church, the colours of leaves on the trees and the other vegetations were in very sharp focus. I had never seen such beauty of colours before. Details of everything I looked at or heard or felt in my spirit were all MAGNIFIED megafolds.

It is amazing how we take life for granted and do not appreciate the beauty GOD has placed all around us.

Mary, you said in your article:

“1 Corinthians 13:12 promises a day when we will no longer see through imperfect eyes:

“Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything

with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know

everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. . .”

I totally believe in that . That is exactly what I experienced. When one comes to this place the AWARENESS of everything physical and spiritual is HEIGHTENED megafold.

God is like that. The bible says he is aware of everything around Him, including the falling of the “sparrow” to the ground.

Id like to add 1 Corinthians 2: 9 where it says, Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, nor has it entered the heart of men, all the good things that the Lord has prepared for those who love Him. Glory to GOD.

One day soon, we will come to that place where all we can say will “WOW”, so while it is frustrating and lonely, I continue to strive on because GOD is with Us.

Thank you Mary for bringing me back to that place with your article and I hope I have not confused you too much with my grammer.

May God bless you and your family.

John –

It’s so nice to hear from a brother in PNG! Your English is excellent — better than most Americans. :-)

I have heard that there are many Portuguese speakers in Papua New Guinea. Do you “fala Portugues?”

Your comments were so encouraging. Thank you for taking the time to share. It always blesses me to hear how God is working in the lives of “his kids” all over the world.

I pray that as you continue to serve the Lord and your country as a police officer, that God’s Spirit will give you courage, strength and peace, and grace beyond measure.

Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
(NKJV)

God bless you!
