Resurrection Stories

Friday April 3, 2009
With Easter in sight, I put together a collection of resurrection stories for you to consider throughout the next week as you celebrate Christ's resurrection. Some of the stories are from the pages of the Bible, others are modern-day testimonies and poems. One is a fiction novel you might want to read during this season of new life and rebirth.

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Read a brief summary of the Bible story about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with Scripture references, interesting points or lessons to be learned from the story, and a question for reflection.

Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead
This Bible story summary teaches us a lesson about persevering through difficult trials.

What Did Lazarus See?
Wouldn't you have been eager to know just what Lazarus saw during those four days he ventured into the afterlife? Curiously, the Bible doesn't reveal what Lazarus saw after his death and before Jesus raised him back to life. But it does make plain one very important truth about heaven.

Robert's Resurrection Testimony
Robert was pronounced dead at 17-months-old after falling from a three-story window. On the way to the morgue, his grandmother insisted that he was alive. She saw his toes moving. Though baby Robert miraculously survived, on Christmas Day, 1948, doctors told his parents to take him home to die. But Robert did not die. He's still alive today, and testifies of God's answered prayers throughout his life.

Waking Lazarus by T.L. Hines
T.L. Hines made a grand entrance onto the novelist stage with his first book, debuting in my favorite genre -- supernatural suspense fiction. Not many books have hooked me with the first sentence, but this one did. Jude Allman is immune to the power of death. He has died three times and each time comes back to life. Intrigued? Read this book review and consider picking up a copy!

The Woman, the Dragon and the Child - Poem
This Easter poem is an original Christian poem submitted by an About.com member.
