People appear to either love Sarah Palin or hate her. Without question, she has everyone scratching their heads trying to figure her out. She certainly doesn't fit 'the mold' and it drives bloggers, reporters, political analysts and talk show hosts crazy. In some ways, she reminds me of a particularly charismatic Bible character whose wild popularity invoked a huge followingJohn the Baptist. He didn't conform to people's expectations either. Hordes of people pursued him as growing controversy surrounded him. Some even worshiped him, yet, others hated him so much they wanted him dead. Does that sound somewhat familiar?
What I'd like to know is whywhat is it about Sarah Palin that arouses such attraction and countering opposition? Is it her uniqueness? Is it her unorthodox thoughts and behavior (did someone say maverick?) that bring out extreme reactions from both supporters and objectors? Maybe it's her family values and moral convictions? Personally, I think it might have something to do with her allegiance to another kingdom, her 'higher calling.' As a follower of Jesus Christ, could it be that Sarah Palin knows her mission? If she recognizes her membership in God's heavenly kingdom, that charge would come before any duties of this earthly realm. If she is committed to the call of God on her life, a sense of divine purpose would give her boldness and uncompromising courage to do the Lord's will, no matter what this world expectsjust like John the Baptist.
What do you think?
In the comments section, please give your reasons. If you hate her, tell us why, specifically. If you love her, give an explanation. I can't wait to hear your ideas.

I love her. She comes across as a normal, next door neighbor type of person and not really a politician. So, when she does something like this people try to explain it in political terms and they are left scratching their heads. She did what every NORMAL person would do. If you are on a job where you CAN’T to your job, to the best of your ability, because people make it their priority to make things difficult for you, then I would think most of us would leave that job. People hate her because she is somehwat different from the rest of them and they see that as a threat.
YOU GO GIRL! I’m Proud of Sarah Palin and I love her as a sister in Christ. So WHAT if those in the media can’t figure her out? So WHAT if those in the political genre can’t put their finger on why she does what she does? Maybe she’s marching to a different drummer or maybe (just maybe) A HIGHER POWER? I know that’s not a popular view in todays twisted pop-culture and the liberals are scared-to-death that someone with traditional conservative values like(dare I say)Ronald Reagan? will come along and burst their twisted liberal ideas. If THAT happens, (and I’m not saying that it will) I will be rolling on the floor in hilarious laughter.
I admire her faith, her love for this great country(that is quickly being destroyed both morally and politically), and all that she stands for that is right and true. She definitely is a breath of fresh air which we so desperately need. I will continue to pray for her and her family that God will bless her and guide her in doing His will. It is sad to see people who do not see what a God send she has been for the corrupt political world. God please save us from ourselves, open up the eyes and hearts of the people to you and your truth in hopefully making us worthy of your blessings.

uhm could it be that she’s still kinda hot looking?
My mom and I have always loved Sarah Palin and her ideas. She’s a great person. I wish that people would accept her for her decisions that she has made. I hope she still runs in the 2012 election. She is just a great person and I wish everybody could see it. I know she can do anything she puts her mind too.
I adore her! She is perfect for a leadership job. I hope she runs for president. My vote is “YES SHE CAN.”
By the way, we need someone goregous to represent America too….don’t you think?
Go SARA…..you have the brains, intellengence, and charm to do America right in 2012. Anyone who can’t love this dear lady truly has a confused concept of her.
And guest what……I’m a demoncrat, but she will get my vote in 2012.
I think she is great. She believes in America and stands up for her principles. She should be proud of her family. Bristol should be applauded for her dignity and strength during all the attacks on her. Sara you are an inspiration and they all just afraid of you. Take you time, ask God for guidance and decide what you want to do. You are the kind of woman we should all respect and look up to.
I don’t think I either LOVE her or HATE her or at least I didn’t at first. I’m being pushed more toward loving her just because I HATE the close mindedness of people who say they HATE her just because she appears to them to be a vapid female and sometimes says some corny things. I have a lot of conservative friends who did not vote for Obama and who would have voted for McCain “in spite of” Palin who really come down hard on her. They criticize everything she says and does..and I don’t get it. I don’t understand how common people who are NOT highly educated can diss another person who is just like them who makes good and is trying to help out the common man/woman. It is very frustrating when in our current times I think the best thing we could do is go back to having the common person be our representatives and other elected officials. It is clear the political elite have no clue what they are doing (conservative and liberal) so lets just support someone who is not of that ilk.
Betty G –
I like the way you think. I too have more confidence in the “average Joe” (or Sarah) representative than our current political elite.
I think she’s a phony. Whenever she speaks, I’m reminded of someone who didn’t prepare at all for her job interview because she incorrectly believed she was smart enough to BS her way through it.
I liked Sarah Palin when she first came on the scene, that was until she opened her mouth. I understand having a higher calling and being passionate about personal values. However, Sarah needs to step back and get educated on the issues (and educated in general). I don’t believe the left “hate” her, I think they are in awe of her absolute stupidity. She is confident however, in my eyes she doesn’t know enough to realize she doesn’t know enough. For the first time in my history I did not vote Republican and for one reason… Palin. In addition, she claims to be a Christian however during the campaign trail and since then, she has been caught in so many misleading statements and some out and out lies. I don’t see Christ in that.
I see a lot of things in Sarah Palin but I don’t see “Jesus” in her heart at all. I see a narrow-minded woman of narrow experience trying to hoodwink us into believing she’s something she’s not – intelligent and Godly.
When are people like you going to see that people who love the bottom line and the bottom dollar (like Palin) have nothing in common with Jesus who believed in being, if nothing else, kind to the poor and downtrodden.
Palin is a pretender and nothing but. The sad part is that you are too blinded by her shill to see her for what she truly is.
Love her….mostly because I think she reflects the same
values as most people I know…myself as well. She believes
the govenment needs “less” say in our lives not more!
Just to make it simple….she is an average everyday kind
of person not your normal political person….
she wants the best for all of america without selling out to
the ones with the $
haha MA Frishman said it perfectly
some are just in “awe” of her stupidity…
I absolutely love her, and respect her. I called my mom to tell her how excited I was because I am going to see her, and hopefully meet her personally this Thursday at a luncheon. My mother said she couldn’t stand her, I was shocked, and asked her why, and she didn’t even have an answer. I believe it is when people don’t have it right in their heart with our Lord, Sarah Palin turns them off because she does. It isn’t Sarah that they have a problem with, it is their own hard heart that they need to look at.
I will vote for Sarah as our next President. Our country needs a God loving president.
I looked up this page to find out what in the world people see in Sarah Palin. I am an American Christian, registered Independent, and I just can’t figure it out. So far I’ve seen that people like her because she is right with God and because she’s a normal everyday person who is not too highly educated.
As far as being right with God: the Christians I admire are not mean, sarcastic, and petty. I was excited to hear what she had to say at the Convention when she first showed up, but she quickly turned me away with her consistently spiteful language. I appreciate that she is not scared to talk about God, but it angers me when she uses His name to further her own political agenda.
As far as being “average”: It is obvious that she’s not too highly educated, based on her lack of knowledge of politics and geography displayed during the campaign. I can see why that might endear her to others who are suspicious of education and equate it with some sort of “elite”, but being endearing is one thing. Being qualified and competent to hold the most powerful office on earth is entirely different!
I must say that I remain entirely unconvinced, but I’ll keep looking.
Don’t like her or dislike her. Think she’d be Ok for city council or similar position. Needs to be a lot…I mean a lot more knowedgeable about everything to be even considered for national office…maybe in 20 years or so if she really learns. At present she would be a laughing stock in world opinion, but would be entertainment in Saturday Night Live. Too much of a “hick”.
