Nothing is Impossible With God

In all four gospels, we encounter the Bible story of Jesus feeding more than 5000 people with only a few loaves of bread and two fish. A great crowd had gathered after Jesus had spent a long day teaching about the Kingdom of God and healing the sick. As he prepared to perform a miracle of supernatural provision, he found his disciples focused on the problem—namely, what's for dinner?—rather than on God. They had forgotten, as it says in Luke 1:37, that "nothing is impossible with God."

Apparently, the disciples' short-term memories were short-circuiting, because they had just witnessed the miraculous healing of many in the crowd. In fact, these were the very same disciples who had just returned from an exciting missionary journey in which they themselves had cast out demons and healed the sick. But, the truth is, these men were just like you and me. Oftentimes, when we confront a sizable problem we've never faced before, we lose sight of the many ways God has helped us and saved us in the past.
