God's Great Care in the Psalms

The book of Psalms is a great place to go when you are hurting. This collection of poetry and prayers contains some of the most comforting words in Scripture. Psalm 23, in particular, is one of the most dearly loved, soul-comforting passages in all the Bible.

Psalm 23:1-4,6
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me ... Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (NIV)
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? (NIV)
Psalm 71:5
For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. (NIV)
Psalm 86:17

Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. (NIV)

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
(NIV)
