Locating Unreached Peoples in the World

It's difficult to believe in this day of global communication that there are still people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. But, it's true.

According to the Joshua Project, a strategic and comprehensive research group dedicated to analyzing and sharing international missions data, there are 2.89 billion unreached peoples in the world today. That's 41.7% of the world's population.

Joshua Project defines "an unreached people" as "a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group." Interestingly, the majority of the unreached peoples of the world are located in a distinct geographical region identified by mission strategists as the 10/40 Window.
