'Everything Is Meaningless ... Completely Meaningless'

That headline is taken from Ecclesiastes 12:8 (NLT). Some Bible translations read, "Vanity of vanities, ... all is vanity." Ironically, the word "meaningless" is more meaningful for us today. Expressed in this phrase is the core theme of the book of Ecclesiastes. As part of the Poetry and Wisdom Books of the Bible, Ecclesiastes reveals the emptiness of life apart from God.

Book of Ecclesiastes

The author, King Solomon, had tremendous riches, wisdom, success, singular achievements, his pick of women, and every pleasure the ancient world offered. Yet, in the end, he concluded that none of these earthly things brought satisfaction. And if we, like Solomon, live too firmly anchored to this world and its many pleasures and pursuits, we will miss out on true contentment as well.

This introduction to the book of Ecclesiastes is a great reminder to maintain an eternal mindset:

Marie,
Very good story and that we should tell our friends and families. In the corporate world today where greed is the order of the day. I wish I was able to tell some of my co-workers this story. I always ask this question to my friends and families. What does it profit a man or woman to gain the world and lose their souls? The Solomon story is similar. He found out before it was too late. Everyone will not have the same revelation before it is too late.

Take care and God bless!

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content of what you have for God have said never will i live you, never will i forsake you and that’s what i will exactly do because everything is meaningless.God bless and strengthen you to continue to do his work
