A Word About Ads
As a Guide, I am not involved in the decisions regarding the content, frequency, or format of the advertising on About. The advertisers make it possible for this site to be free of charge for you and provide an income for me while maintaining the site. If you have a comment about the ads on this site, the best way to get your message to the appropriate party is to fill out the feedback form to customer care. For information on advertising opportunities with About.com, see our advertiser pages.
A Word About Arguments
Christianity is a subject that tends to stir up arguments. People are passionate about their beliefs, and as a result, controversies can stem from differing doctrinal beliefs, varying faith-perspectives, diverse interpretations of Scripture, cultural differences, lifestyle choices, etc. As your Guide, I have set a goal to avoid involvement in arguments. It is not my purpose to tell you what is right and wrong, or what to believe. The intent of this site is to lead you to the tools necessary to develop your own relationship with Christ and a fuller understanding of the Christian life. Keep in mind the Christian faith is based historically on the teachings of the Bible, and therefore, the Holy Scriptures will always be the foundation and basis for any materials published on this site. The interpretation of Scripture is always subject to human imperfection. May we as brothers and sisters allow love to cover us, and agree to disagree when necessary. With all of that said, please know that I will not respond to argumentative email. Please, use the forum as a place for debating controversial issues.
Email Your Guide
If I can assist you in a way not addressed above, please feel free to email me at christianity.guide@about.com. Your thoughts and comments are welcome! To keep my email manageable, please follow these guidelines:
- Important Email Disclaimer: By using the christianity.guide@about.com address you are giving the Christianity Guide, Mary Fairchild, permission to use the email's contents on this site, either on the forum or in a feature.
- Please, NO email attachments. I will delete them unopened.
- I prefer plain text.
- Use an identifying subject line. If your subject line is blank or looks like spam, I may never see it.
- Use good English and grammar. The only other language I speak is Portuguese, so feel free to use it too. To save time, I will respond using English. Don't use ALL CAPS, but do separate sentences with the best punctuation you can muster, and use the shift key where appropriate.
- A kind request goes a long way. I don't respond to impolite demands. Also, if one of my answers helped you, I do appreciate it when you take a moment to let me know.
- Please don't email me with questions unrelated to the Christianity topic.
You obviously have the character quality of patience if you've gotten this far. So, whether or not I hear from you, let me thank you for taking the time to visit my site!
Your Guide,
F.A.Q.
- Q. Reprint Requests: How do I request reprint permission?
- A. Usually, I am not able to grant reprint permission because About.com owns the publishing rights to my site's content and doesn't allow it to be published without permission. All reprint requests are managed by The New York Times Company. The reprint request form is located here.
- Q. Small-Scale Reprints: What if I only want to use the material for a small group Bible study or Sunday School class?
- A. If you intend to use the material for a small-scale arena only (local church newsletter, bulletin, Sunday School class, small group Bible study, etc.) and not for internet use or large-scale publications (local newspaper, circulated magazine, mailing flyers, etc.) you may reprint an article with the following attribution:
