Most Christian services begin with a time of praise and worship. Some churches open with one or two songs, while others participate in an hour of worship. 20-30 minutes is typical for most churches. This would also be the most likely time for a choir arrangement or a special song from a solo artist or guest singer. The purpose of this time is to lift God up in praise, to express our love, gratitude and thankfulness to Him for all He has done for us. When we focus on the Lord, we remove our eyes from our own problems, and we end up being encouraged in the process.
