Regina's Precious Gift

Christian Testimony of a Transformed Life

From Regina

Regina's precious baby, Elizabeth, was dying from respiratory failure at only three weeks old. Though their faith was tested, Regina and her husband clung to God through prayer and praise. God answered their prayers in the form of a miracle, restoring little Elizabeth to health.

Regina's Precious Gift

This testimony is about my daughter, Elizabeth. She was born March 24, 2005. Along with her three siblings, she is one of the most precious gifts God has given me.

When Elizabeth was only three weeks old, she came very close to dying. She was diagnosed with Pertussis and respiratory failure.

A Last Resort

As a last resort, the doctors decided to use an ECMO (Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) heart-lung bypass machine. This would circulate her blood through an artificial lung, providing oxygenation before pumping it back into her bloodstream. Essentially it took over for her heart and lungs.

Testing My Faith

Pastors came from our church and prayed with us. During those two months of Elizabeth's illness, God tested my faith and the faith of my husband. I said to the Lord, "Everything is in your hands, Lord. Elizabeth is your child. Let your will be done. Whether it be to take her or let her stay with us so we can love her and kiss her."

A Miracle

God performed a miracle through those wonderful doctors and nurses at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. I am very grateful to the Lord. Every day I look at Elizabeth and say, "Thank you, Lord." And I thank God for all my children.

I never stopped praising God through that storm. I continued saying, "I love you, Father."

My God is the God of the impossible! Elizabeth will turn two years old this March.
