Who Do You Say That I Am?

Christian Poem About Jesus Christ

By

"Who Do You Say That I Am?" is a Christian poem submitted by an About.com member. In one woman's words, the poem describes her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Who Do You Say That I Am?

Wondrous as the wind in its gentleness and fury
Holy as you're separate, yet deeply connected to me
Outside my understanding in the mystery of your being

Descended from your Father, for all mankind to see
Otherness yet sameness, beyond my comprehension

You laugh with me, you cry with me, clothed in humanity
Ointment to the wounds of life
Umpire of my soul

Saving me, restoring me
Allows me to be whole
Yielding and submitting, yet never compromising

The amazing love you had for me as you hung at Calvary
Heaven touching earth
Attuned to all my needs

The Christ who through your birth
Incarnate God to be

Ageless, as the absence of time I feel in your presence
My lord, you are the Christ, I know, living here with me
