You've Got Me Thinking

When will this feeling
Of emptiness leave?
So much darkness,
The light bereaved.

Wishing and hoping,
Excuses taking their toll,
Praying each day,
“God inspire my soul!”

I've been looking for answers,
For signs at my face.
But you've got me thinking...
My search is misplaced.

I can say God doesn't hear me,
Doesn't answer my plea.
But He sacrificed for me first,
His Son, to set me free.

And God’s breath heals dark shadows that dwell.
So, for Him, what now will I do?
...I will step into life,
With the precious few,

Who don’t ask opportunity be dropped at their feet.
Who don’t wait for life to give,
Who even when weary and worn,
Shout, “My Redeemer Lives!”

What mountain to climb?
What fear to suppress?
What water to walk?
What life to bless?

Yes, you've got me thinking...
Life is not built by expectations or fate,
But with God’s love and forgiveness,
It’s something we create!
