Emmanuel's Visions
My name is Emmanuel, and I'm currently serving in the US Navy Reserves, working as a full time civilian physical therapy assistant. I have had encounters with the Lord Jesus since as far back as eight years of age, as well as experiences with Satan and his demons.I guess I'll start with my childhood. My mom was involved in an abusive relationship when I was a child, and that effected me as I became older. I remember being mean-spirited to my school classmates and fighting for no reason. At the same time, I would hear a voice speak to me out of nowhere almost every day, telling me to change my behavior.
A Wake-Up Call
I ignored the voice and kept being a bad kid in school. Then one night my life changed. Someone began to come and wake me up late at night, almost every night at the same time while my mother, brother, and sisters were all asleep.When I woke up, I would see a black hooded figure with a large chain in his hand standing at the end of the hall. He would begin to walk toward my room, and I could also clearly hear the sound of a very terrible place in the background of the figure.
In fright, I would jump up out of my bed and slam the door to my room shut, and then climb back in bed, hoping it would not come in. But I could hear the chain dragging as it walked.
Nobody believed me when I told them about it. This continued for awhile, though I can't remember how long.
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but I was not sure what to do after that, so I lived my own way of life. Still, I could not shake those encounters I had as a child.
A Vision of Jesus
Then one day when I was a teenager, I went to my mom's friend's church. A young minister asked people to come to the altar for prayer. So, I went up. I knelt down with my head bowed and my eyes closed. Then I saw a man in a white robe walking from a distance toward me with a large cross.I looked up and he continued to walk toward me while the minister prayed for people at the altar. I wondered who the man was standing with the pastor! He looked compassionate and humble, and I could feel an indescribable love continuously flowing from him.
Then he stopped at the edge of the altar, and as he looked at me, I looked back at him. All of a sudden, I knew it was the Lord Jesus. And just as quickly, he disappeared!
Years later, my family had a gathering at my aunt and uncle's house, and we got into a discussion about the Second Coming of Jesus and the book of Revelation.
More Spiritual Visions
I was afraid that night after talking about the book of Revelation, so I prayed and asked God not to leave me when he returns. That same night I fell asleep and saw myself leave my body.An angel from heaven came and took me by the hand, showing me terrible destruction coming upon the earth. I also saw Satan on earth laughing, deceiving, and killing people who would be tormented in hell.
Satan then stopped killing people. He turned around and looked at me, and as he came toward me, the angel grabbed me and warned me not to look back. But I did look, because I saw Satan coming. Then the angel changed and became glorious, with large wings and a fierce look in his face. He told me not to look back again!
A Light from Heaven
Suddenly I was surrounded by a light from heaven, and I was taken to a place filled with light and peace. A beautiful candle burned in front of me. I could feel the presence of someone there.I saw two giant angels standing in front of me at a throne, and a voice coming from the light on the throne said to me, "Do not be afraid, and do not fear the devil. You will have tribulations on the earth, but be faithful to me until death, and I will give you a crown of life!"
As I approached to see the person on the throne, the two giant angels would not let me come any closer. Then a man dressed in a shiny white garment stepped forward. He looked just like the person I saw as a teenager at the altar.
Spiritual Gifts
The man showed me a huge army of angels that were prepared to come to the earth for battle against all who opposed God and his Word. He gave me a sword and a shield, and a new garment to wear.I felt a great power fill me, and then without saying a word, the man signaled the angel to return me to earth. Immediately, I saw and felt myself dropping back into my room inside my earthly, physical body.
Since that time, I've discovered through bishops and pastors that God has put ministry gifts within me, like music, physical fitness, and helping people in various areas of their life. I now play the piano, drums, and guitar, which I love passionately! Since I was a child, I've always wanted to work in physical therapy, and now I've been able to finish school through the military.
