Christians can turn to the Scriptures to express gratitude toward friends and family members, for the Lord is good, and his kindness is everlasting. Thank You Bible Verses

Naomi, a widow, had two married sons that died. When her daughters-in-law pledged to accompany her back to her homeland, she said:

"And may the Lord reward you for your kindness ..." (Ruth 1:8, NLT)

When Boaz allowed Ruth to gather grain in his fields, she thanked him for his kindness. In return, Boaz honored Ruth for all she had done to help her mother-in-law, Naomi, saying:

"May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” (Ruth 2:12, NLT)

In one of the most dramatic verses in the New Testament, Jesus Christ said:

"There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:13, NLT)

What better way is there to thank someone and make their day bright than to wish them this blessing from Zephaniah:

"For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs." (Zephaniah 3:17, NLT)

After Saul had died, and David was anointed king over Israel, David blessed and thanked the men who had buried Saul:

The Apostle Paul sent many words of encouragement and thanks to believers in the churches he visited. To the church in Rome he wrote:

To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. (Romans 1:7-8, NIV)

Here Paul offered up thanks and a prayer for his brothers and sisters in the church in Corinth:

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge—God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. Paul never failed to thank God earnestly for his loyal partners in ministry. He assured them that he was praying joyfully on their behalf:

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now ... (Philippians 1:3-5, NIV)

In his letter to the Ephesian church family, Paul expressed his unceasing gratitude to God for the good news he heard about them. He assured them that he regularly interceded for them, and then he pronounced a wonderful blessing on his readers:

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (Ephesians 1:15-17, NIV)

Many great leaders act as mentors to someone younger. For the Apostle Paul his "true son in the faith" was Timothy:

I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. (2 Timothy 1:3-4, NIV)

Again, Paul offered up thanks to God and a prayer for his Thessalonian brothers and sisters:

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers. (1 Thessalonians 1:2, ESV)

In Numbers 6, God told Moses to have Aaron and his sons bless the children of Israel with an extraordinary pronouncement of security, grace, and peace. This prayer is also known as the Benediction. It is one of the oldest poems in the Bible. The blessing, packed full of meaning, is a beautiful way to say thank you to someone you love:

The Lord bless you and keep you;

In response to the Lord’s merciful deliverance from illness, Hezekiah offered a song of thanksgiving to God:
