What I Liked Most & Least About this Book / Author

I liked the illustrations and the movement in the story from the past to the present and to the future.

I got lost some and had to reread passages to continue the thought and make sure I was following the story.

My Review

I did enjoy the book and the illustrations. Ordinarily I don't care much about history, but I do like human interest and positive true stories. Here, I got both.

I knew the background story of a Christmas truce. I didn't know it was the British soldiers who were the benefactors of the German soldiers' grace that day. I loved reading the true letters of the soldiers. I liked that I could read something positive about German soldiers.

I really appreciated Mike's transition from that truce, through the next time peace was desired and not received, and the emphasis on the idea that peace can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Yes
