What is the Blog About?
The blog is written to encourage other believers in their walks with the Lord. The focus is on Christian living and discipleship as experienced through my life and hopefully the lives of guest bloggers. I welcome book reviews and suggestions and hope to eventually establish a sister site for women in Southern Illinois to contribute their testimonies and stories, wisdom and insight gained through life experience in a journey with the Lord.
What Do You Like Best About the Blog?
The blog is real. It isn't about some perfect pastor's wife. It is about a woman who is seeking to follow the Lord in her various roles as a woman, wife, and mother, as well as a pastor's wife. It's about being transparent and somewhat vulnerable in order to encourage others who feel alone in their walk. This is what is most refreshing about my posts, so I have been told.
Lessons Learned
- I have learned that women in particular appreciate honesty and transparency.
- I have seen how women so isolate themselves because they often feel "less than." When, in fact, we all experience moments of feeling less than. Sadly, rare are the women willing to share those less than moments.
- I have learned that God's gifts are best used to glorify him. It is there that we find the most joy in using them.
- I have learned how much of a blessing it is to encourage others by using God given passions.
- I have learned that God so directs the writing that I just need to stay sensitive to what he is leading me to write.
