Is Jesus in Your Boat?

Is Jesus in Your Boat?
We learn a lot from the timeless stories of the Bible. In fact, as we return to study them again and again, we often discover something new—a tidbit of truth we didn't see before. In the Bible story, "Jesus Walks on Water," there are obvious lessons of faith that jump out at us, as well as some subtler points that we don't want to miss.

Though we may not walk across water, we will go through difficult, faith-testing circumstances. Taking our eyes off Jesus and focusing on the troubling circumstances will cause us to sink under our problems. But when we cry out to Jesus, he catches us by the hand and raises us above the seemingly impossible surroundings. In the end, as Jesus and Peter climb into the boat, the storm immediately ceases. When we have Jesus "in our boat" the storms of life are calmed so that we can worship him.

Like Peter, we can take courage through this brief summary of the Bible story, "Jesus Walks on Water," with Scripture reference, interesting points or lessons to be learned from the story, and a question for reflection.
