Admittedly,
Sarah Palin is a latecomer to the chatter waves. However, the
former Alaska Governor and John McCain's running mate in 2008, has attracted enough
love-hate attention in the last two years of the decade to make up for her previous relative obscurity. Extreme popularity with the political right coupled with outright disdain and
ridicule from the left, skyrocketed Palin into the public spotlight in August 2008 when John McCain announced her as his choice for Vice President.
In July 2009, she surprised just about everyone again with her bombshell announcement of early resignation as Alaska's Governor. Her memoir, Going Rogue, went bestseller with 300,000 copies selling on its first day, 700,000 during its first week (November 2009), and more than 1 million sold within two weeks of its release.
