Reader Feedback - "The Evangelical Catholic Movement"

By Mary Fairchild, About.com

Recently I received a very insightful email from a reader, Tim, who had just finished reading my editorial piece considering the question "Are Catholics Christians?" In the editorial I shared how one reader was shocked to discover Catholic resources on the Christianity -General site. He asked, "How can you promote a church that is literally filled with false teachings, false beliefs, false ways ... and so forth?"

In response, Tim writes: "I'm actually a Catholic convert, raised Assembly of God and was an elder for many years in a non-denominational church. I accepted Christ as my Savior years ago and love him with all my heart."

Later, explaining why he converted to Catholicism, Tim states, "I suppose I see the beauty and deeply sincere love for our Savior that is the bedrock of the Catholic church."
