What I Liked Most & Least About this Book / Author
I enjoyed the folksy writing style and the way the author was very honest about her life and career so far.
I know this would have been hard to do since everyone's answers will be different, but I wish that more time had been spent exploring how to use the results of the "exits" (exercises).
My Review
Leila Johnson, one of New Mexico’s most celebrated entrepreneurs, cleverly simplifies life from a driving perspective in her new book Driving to Success: Let Your Spirit Take the Wheel. Gears, u-turns, rest stops, and driving styles are well-weaved into the concepts that help the reader see life and compare it to the experience of driving. It keeps in mind the idea that many of us drive blindly through the road of life. Johnson doesn’t just focus on the journey itself. As with all road trips and journeys, she starts the book by helping the reader go through the preparation process.
The book has “exits” — questionnaires and checklists that will help readers assess their own lives, think about the factors that affect their choices, and examine and chart their spiritual and professional course. Driving to Success: Let Your Spirit Take the Wheel is not a get-rich-quick book, but it prides itself in helping the readers examine their existence from a whole new angle. It makes them look deeper into themselves and makes them rev up their own spiritual journey. It’s a modern take on human existence and spirituality that will spur the readers to take full control over their lives and to make wiser life choices. Retrospective, raw and amusing, Driving to Success: Let Your Spirit Take the Wheel is a spiritual tour de force.
